Jeffery Tyler Syck is an Assistant Professor of Political Science and American Studies at the University of Pikeville. His academic research focuses on liberalism and the development of American political institutions. He received his Doctor of Philosophy in Government from the University of Virginia and his Bachelor of Arts in Government and History from Morehead State University. Tyler has held various research fellowships with the Karsh Institute of Democracy, the Institute for Humane Studies, and the Bradley Foundation. He has contributed to a variety of publications including Law and Liberty, Providence, and the Louisville-Courier Journal. An eight-generation Kentuckian he currently lives and works in his home state.
